Dear Agape Ranch Friends,

On May 5, 2020, #GivingTuesdayNow will take place as an emergency response to the unprecedented need caused by COVID-19. The day is designed to drive an abundance of generosity, citizen engagement, business and philanthropy activation, and support for communities and nonprofits around the world.

Regretfully, child abuse and neglect continue to rise and the work of Agape Ranch is needed now more than ever.  However, understandably, our general giving has decreased by 40%.  Agape Ranch continues to be a part of the solution by supporting vulnerable children in our community.

The deep uncertainty of the past and weeks to come due to COVID-19 mobilized a response from Agape Ranch to meet the needs of the most vulnerable populations in the Coastal Bend.

  • We are remaining sensitive to the mental health needs and created webinar and panel discussions and gathered resources to share at www.agaperanch.org/resources.  We will continue to add to this page as we find more partners and meaningful resources.

  • We are facilitating the Disaster Relief feature through the CarePortal platform for churches within the network to see and meet the needs in their immediate radius. Disaster Relief not only serves the at-risk children, but also adults and emergency workers who may need our support.

  • We are meeting the needs of foster parents who have become food, housing, and childcare insecure in order to prevent the disruption the placement for the foster children in their home.

  • We are supplying masks for foster children going to their weekly visits with their biological families. Made masks also available for biological families and case workers.

  • We are reaching out to aged-out foster youth and found ways to support them as they navigate these uncertain times.

In order for our work to continue and bring hope in the areas prevention, kinship care, permanency, and foster care, we invite you to be a part of leaving a better legacy through your #GivingTuesdayNow participation.  I would like to thank you in advance for your generosity.  Please do not hesitate to contact me at susan@agaperanch.org if you have any questions.

Kind regards,

Susan Klaus
