Susan is a graduate from Illinois Wesleyan University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Educational Studies and a Master’s Degree in American History from University of South Florida. Susan's calling to serve children and families took root through her work with children both abroad and across the United States. That calling led her to start an informal group, Adoption and Foster Care Alliance, in 2012, to support and equip foster and adoptive families.

In 2014, Susan founded the non-profit, Agape Ranch, dedicating herself into building a lasting legacy for foster children and aged-out young adults throughout the Coastal Bend and across Texas.

Susan and her husband, Tim, have five children together, three adopted and two biological, and a rescued Doberman Shepherd mix. Having served as foster parents themselves, they have opened their home to 10 foster children over the years. Today, they continue to support the foster community as respite care providers.
