AGAPE ROOTS

About Agape Roots

Agape Roots is a family support group for foster families in the Coastal Bend. Roots is held every other month on Friday evenings, 6:00 – 7:45 p.m. at a host church. Your caseworker may register your family to attend and dinner, childcare, and encouraging conversations will be provided. Respite care providers and Agape Ranch screened volunteers will rotate your children through dinner, art class, game time, Bible lesson, and outdoor play. Childcare is provided for ages 0-18 years old, (Foster, Biological, and Adopted children). At Agape Roots, we take time to pray, share stories from our week, and help each other through parenting vulnerable children. This is a time for foster parents to take a breath and find out about upcoming events, discuss parenting challenges, share breakthroughs, and leave refreshed.

How do I register my children to attend?

Agape Ranch partners with local child-placing agencies (CPAs) and caseworkers to invite current foster families in the Coastal Bend to this program. If you are a current foster family that would like to participate in our Agape Roots program, please contact your child-placing agency or caseworker to get registered.

If your child-placing agency or caseworker is not familiar with this program, please contact our Program Coordinator, Kim Morales via email at kim@agaperanch.org.

How can I best support this program?

This program does not function without the participation and support of the local community! Below are three ways you can best support this program:

1.Become a Respite Care Provider

Respite Care Providers (RCPs) are the heartbeat of this program. Children and youth in foster care are required to receive care from certified individuals. As a RCP, you undergo training and CPR/First Aid certifications to ensure short-term high quality care for foster children.

Ready to register? Click the form below for details about our next training.

2.Volunteer

In addition to Respite Care Providers, we are always looking for passionate childcare volunteers to join this program. During Agape Roots, volunteers are paired with an RCP to assist and learn more about serving vulnerable children.

To learn more about volunteering, fill out the below form.

3.Sponsor or Partner

Local community partners allow this program to grow and develop with excellence! If you are a local organization, business, or church that is interested in contributing to the following needs of this program, please contact Kim Morales, Program Coordinator via email at kim@agaperanch.org.
