We fully believe that a bed is a basic need for the proper physical, emotional, and mental support that a child needs. One of the most requested items on CarePortal is for a twin-size bed. Agape Ranch stepped up and took the initiative! All children deserve a safe, comfortable place to lay their heads, and we discovered that vulnerable children end up sleeping on couches, blankets, and even floors. This can affect their happiness and health.
Agape Ranch Bed Build events allow us to support vulnerable children and their families with a safe sleeping space through the CarePortal program. Our aim is to provide supportive beds to vulnerable families to enhance children's safety and help prevent foster care placement.
At the event, we provide thirteen different stations, and each station will have a station leader and specific instructions available. Putting the beds together happens through an assembly line, and no prior building experience is necessary.
Our goal is to build fifteen beds at each event. Agape Ranch will provide all lumber and supplies. Volunteers need to bring their personal safety equipment such as gloves, safety goggles, and dust mask.
Due to potential hazards at this construction event, the minimum age to volunteer is thirteen years old. A parent or guardian must chaperone their minor at all times with a limit of two minors per volunteering parent.
